01. What is Text2Pay?

Text2Pay is the safe and easy way to pay for digital goods online with your mobile phone. No credit cards, no signup forms necessary. It's mobile payments made easy.

02. Is Text2Pay safe?

The very foundation of the Text2Pay business is ensuring a safe, secure transaction platform for our customers and merchants who rely on it.

One of the strongest safety features is the fact that a phone's physical presence is required. Because you hold the phone physically in your hand and are required to respond to a text message for the transaction to go through, this makes Text2Pay very safe. Unlike a credit card numbers which can be stolen and used without the card if key ID information is also known.

The extra security this "physical presence factor" provides is why many online banking systems now incorporate additional layers of SMS identification and transfer authorisation as part of their banking service.

03. How do I get charged? Do I require a bank account or credit card?

When you click the Text2Pay button and enter your phone number, we will send you a text message. Only after you reply TNP and agree to the charges outlined in that text message we will charge you.

You do not need a credit card or bank account to pay. The charge will appear on your next mobile phone bill, usually at the end of each month. You only require a mobile phone with an active monthly account or pre-paid with credit on it.

04. What will show up on my bill?

In most cases the item will be itemised with Text2Pay in the description. In some cases it may contain the name of the merchant you bought the goods off or the Short code phone number associated with the merchant.

05. How long does a transaction take? How soon can I get my goods?

Text2Pay's system is automated and once you have sent your text message confirmation the transaction usually happen in a matter of seconds. The delivery of digital goods happens in most cases instantaneously or within a couple of minutes. In rare cases our merchants can take several hours to approve the purchase and deliver your goods.

06. What if my phone is pre-paid or pay-as-you-go?

The charge is deducted from the balance on the phone account at the time of the transaction. If you do not have sufficient funds, your transaction will be declined.

07. What countries and mobile networks do you cover?

Text2Pay works in over 50+ countries so odds are you can Text2Pay in your part of the world. See our coverage page for the latest details of country by country coverage.

08. What personal information do you collect?

Text2Pay does not collect personal identification information such as the name or address of individual users. The primary information we collect is your phone number and this is covered by our comprehensive privacy policy.

09. What happens if I don't receive my text message immediately?

When the text message arrives it will be valid for up to 24 hours depending on which country and mobile network you are on. If you confirm the message within this time we will complete the payment and deliver your digital goods.

10. I entered my number, but I still don't have a text and it's been
     hours.

Text2Pay is designed to dispatch a text message instantly, but there could be several reasons for a delay. There may be signal reception issues in your location. Trying moving outside and restarting your device. It may also be a temporary problem with your carrier and the text could be delivered later. It may also be a problem with the credit available in your account if you are a pre-paid customer or you might have Premium SMS services blocked. To unblock Premium SMS services you will need to contact your carrier.

11. My reply to has failed / I received an error message.

It may be a problem with your phone. If your reply to our text message failed, try noting the number (shortcode) that sent you the message and try composing a new SMS with the TNP instruction in reply. Alternatively you could contact the customer care line and we will do our best to help you.
